On Friday of Week 5, both the boys and girls Year 9 Soccer classes travelled to Marden to compete in the Year 8/9 Futsal Tournament. Across the day both teams played a total of 6 games against a range of other schools.

The boys had a terrific start to the day by winning their first 4 games and only needed to win 1 more game to book their spot in the state finals. Unfortunately, they were unable to overcome either Craigmore or Salisbury East in the last 2 games. Overall, a brilliant effort from the boys and promising signs for the future.

The girls were able to win one and draw one of their 6 games. For the girls, the focus of the day was to gain more playing experience and continue to develop as a team, and with that in mind, the girls had an absolutely brilliant day. The attitude that all of the girls showed throughout the day was fantastic and they should all be extremely proud of their efforts. In particular, we were most proud of their resilience in the face of some talented opposition, and to continue playing right to the end. It was also very exciting to see the improvement in skills for the girls from the start of the year.

Great work to both teams! – Mr. Norman & Mr. Evans
