Ms Haywood’s 3D – Underwater Creatures

In this section:

Ms Haywood’s Grade 3 class has been creating effects using oil pastels and watercolour paints. These are achieved by combining oil-based and water-based media.

They also demonstrate using the ‘wet on wet’ technique, which involves wetting the page first with water only, then applying watercolour paint to an already wet surface. This allows the watercolour to disperse across the paper, creating a very subtle and restrained effect.

Subject matter includes Siamese fighting fish, orcas, and dolphins.
