News from Foundation

In this section:

Our learning this term have been centred around letter sound knowledge, articulation and letter formation, which are crucial stepping stones in literacy development. We have learnt the sounds that the letters m, s, t and a make. With this knowledge students then learn how to segment sounds, which is the skill of breaking words into individual sounds and then blending those sounds back together, the skill of combining these sounds to read and write words.

With this strong foundation of letter sound knowledge, formation and articulation, students are now beginning to read and write their first words! And we are all so very proud and excited.
