2026 Aboriginal Youth Summit
On 13 March 2026, Mark Oliphant College students Dwayne T and Indyanna D attended the Aboriginal Youth Summit held at Adelaide Zoo. The event brought together Aboriginal youth from across South Australia to celebrate culture, strengthen leadership skills, and discuss issues relevant to young Aboriginal people.
Throughout the summit, Dwayne and Indyanna participated in workshops, group discussions, and cultural activities designed to foster a sense of community and empower Aboriginal youth. They engaged with peers and elders, shared their perspectives, and learned about a range of topics including cultural identity, sustainability, and pathways to leadership.
The students had the opportunity to connect with role models and gain inspiration for future community involvement. Their respectful participation reflected positively on Mark Oliphant College, strengthening the school’s commitment to reconciliation and cultural inclusion.
Dwayne and Indyanna reported a rewarding experience, expressing increased confidence and motivation to contribute to their community. Their attendance at the summit will help further the school’s engagement with Aboriginal programs and support the development of emerging leaders within the college.
