Year 8 Geography Field Study – Adelaide Botanic Gardens
Year 8 Geography Field Study – Adelaide Botanic Gardens
On Tuesday 1st September 2026 (Week 7), four Year 8 Geography classes undertook a Field Study to the Adelaide Botanic Gardens. This forms part of their Geography unit (focus on landscapes) where they are now putting all the theoretical content into practice.
While we had some rain during the morning, this allowed us to be able to have our recess break before continuing through the Botanic Gardens. We made our way through several of the gardens and focused on locating native and introduced plants and noting what animals we see or hear. We also stopped in several of the gardens to make sketches to utilise later in their Geography unit. Luckily, the rain held out until after we were on the buses, returning to site.
From here, the classes will undertake a local walk around the Munno Para area, with a focus on urbanisation.
